Let’s get organized!

The LMW Professional Organizing Philosophy

I believe that an organized home will make your life easier, happier, and much less stressful.

I believe that less is more luxurious.

I believe in a healthy dose of skepticism toward all things that originate on Pinterest/TikTok/Instagram.

I believe that organizing is by everyone, for everyone.

I believe in celebrating personal style and unique strengths.

I believe in the importance of the little things: a reading nook, a clean kitchen counter, a way to store scarves that really works.

I believe that an organized space improves every aspect of our lives, from our relationships to our mental health.

I believe that you are worth investing in, and that an organized home is a personal investment worth making.

Working With LMW Edits: What to Expect

The LMW Edits approach is designed to get YOU organized, not just your home. Everything we do is built around your unique needs, strengths, and lifestyle. Our process may be different than what you’ve experienced with other professional organizers or seen on TV - but we use it because it produces incredible results!

  • We get to work right away.

You’re ready for change, and we’re here to make it happen. During the first five minutes of your first organizing session, we’ll get right to work sorting and editing your belongings.

  • You are a critical part of the organizing process.

We build your organized home around you, so we need you there every step of the way. We’ll ask you a lot of questions and use your answers to create organizing systems.

  • Your team is dedicated to you.

Every team member is an employee of LMW Edits, personally trained and supervised by founder Lucy Milligan Wahl. Unlike many other professional organizing companies, LMW Edits does not use independent contractors. We believe this strategy protects your privacy and enhances the quality of our work.

  • We address stuff first, storage second.

We can’t talk about how to store stuff until we’ve figured out the stuff being stored and how it needs to work for you. So we likely won’t talk about build outs or containers during your first organizing session.

  • Real change takes time.

If you’re looking for a quick fix done while you’re out of the house for the day, the LMW Edits process is not for you. But if you want to create an organized home that truly works for the long term? That’s our specialty. It may take longer, but it will be so worth the wait!

Organizing Before and After A Move

“Lucy was very methodical, very honest, and great in suggesting ways to store/organize items. I rave all the time about how great working with Lucy was and how it made me feel so much better about my move, and my home now!”

-Kim Johanson, San Francisco

"Lucy is fabulous.  She is professional and has the perfect balance of sharing her advice with me and listening to my desires.  Most importantly, she is passionate about her work and brings an energy to the organizing process that makes it actually enjoyable.  I couldn't recommend her more highly!"

-Tammy, San Mateo

Closet Organization

"I was completely overwhelmed when it came to getting my closets organized. Lucy came over and took care of everything. She was efficient, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. She made me feel relaxed and by the time we finished we had a ton of stuff to donate and throw away and neat organized drawers and closets... and I've managed to keep them that way!"

-Annette Blum, San Francisco

“Lucy made it easier for me to have space for the stuff I love by uncluttering all of the stuff that was shoved into my closets.  Her way of organizing sweaters was particularly helpful because I would always forget what was underneath the top few sweaters.  She literally got rid of my baggage in more ways than one. HAHA.  Lucy is great!”

Overall Home Organizing

"We've been working on an off with Lucy for a few years now and she's helped us accomplish each one of our jobs with skill and energy. She's been particularly wonderful in helping us overcome the initial panic that's induced by life events clashing with one's personal space.   I'd definitely recommend having Lucy on call when you want to take a new direction with your space. Problems get solved and you can really enjoy life's changes along the way."

-Claire, Ventura

Hiring Lucy was one of the best investments I made all year. I only wish I’d found her sooner! Working with her to declutter and organize my two bedroom apartment was easy, fun, and a learning experience… I learned more about the SKILL of organizing (I had never learned this skill!). I’ve never felt more calm or at peace in my place, and I’m entering a new year with a more organized home, and a precise understanding of what I own, and what I really need. What a gift!

-Alissa, San Francisco

The LMW Edits Home Organizing Process

The LMW Edits team will guide you through our three part organizing process. Here's how it works:

Neatly folded cable knit sweaters

1. The Edit

The first step of the organizing process is the most important. It’s so important Lucy named the company after it: the edit!  Only the pieces that truly serve you will have a place in your beautifully organized home.

Custom closet cabinetry

2. The Strategy

Next, your organizer will analyze your spatial and storage needs, making purchases if necessary.  As your home organizer, she’ll customize recommendations for your space, budget, and personal style.

3. The Style

Finally, your organizer will install organizing products, refine the organizing systems, and style your space, ensuring a beautifully organized home that supports you and your family in every aspect of your daily life.
